 In Greek mythology, Prometheus was the Titan god of fire and a champion for mankind. Prometheus stole fire from the gods at Mount Olympus and gave it to humanity in the forms of technology and knowledge. Like Prometheus, we wish to impart our knowledge and government experience to guide our clients through the various federal regulations and pitfalls.

Prometheus Consulting, LLC. is comprised of former federal employees from multiple agencies, each of whom are experts in their respective disciplines. We have always thought it better to conduct outreach and preventative measures to the private sector, rather than respond to an issue that could have compromised national security and potentially lead to severe penalties against the industry. 

CEO Chuck Courtney is a former United States Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent who retired in 2021 with over a quarter century of decorated federal law enforcement experience. Chuck served in various HSI units and was awarded by his agency for exceptional achievement in each.

Although well-rounded, his specialties include International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), weapon and technology counter-proliferation, university and private industry outreach, DHS employment eligibility, and Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) regulations.

Chuck’s personal career highlights include conducting overseas clandestine counter-proliferation investigations, teaching at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) for two years and receiving prestigious awards and recognition from the Intelligence Community.
